Melissa Culbertson

Melissa brings almost two decades of experience in the energy sector, specializing in efficiency, electrification, and demand response. Her work includes market research, portfolio evaluation, strategic planning, and program implementation. She has led technical studies, advised on energy policy, and provided expert testimony for electric and gas portfolios. 

An active industry leader, she serves on the AESP Chapter Board and contributed to initiatives with IEPEC, DOE, NREL, and others. Her innovative work has earned recognition from SXSW Eco, Verizon, and Pecan Street.

Adam Thomas

Adam has over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, specializing in planning, evaluation, and strategic design. He has supported electric and gas utilities across the US. His work includes market research, impact and process evaluations, cost-effectiveness analysis, and regulatory strategy. Adam has led groundbreaking research on smart thermostats in low-income housing and behavioral program persistence.

He also serves as a Chair of the AESP Research and Evaluation Topic Committee and the Annual conference planning committee. Adam is also a certified PMP.

Jennifer Uchendu

Jennifer brings experience in research, evaluation, and data analysis, specializing in survey research, policy analysis, and evidence synthesis. She has supported public-sector and nonprofit organizations through qualitative and quantitative research, data quality assurance, and stakeholder reporting. Prior to joining the team, Jennifer worked with Westat, Kaiser Permanente, the Georgia State Capitol, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Task Force for Global Health.

She holds a Master of Public Health from Emory University.
